Nursery in Progress

I love to decorate, and I've been planning my first baby's nursery long before he was even a thought in my mind....so I'm excited to now be able to get started on our little boy's first room! Here are a few pics of nurseries that I really like--I'm in love with the clean neutral colors--they just seem so clean and calm. Not to mention if/when we are blessed with a little girl, I can just switch out the blue accents to pink and use the same big ticket nursery items for baby number 2 :)

I saw this on a friends facebook page...

Love this one--found it on another blog

So--No decorating post is complete without the before and after pics and I think you will agree that after seeing these before pics that I have a big project on my hands! I am afraid that the room I have to work with will never quite live up to these nurseries, but nonetheless, I am still excited about the project and will do my best with what I've got to work with!

We have our landlord to thank for the neon green
walls and periwinkle trim, and the fabulous window treatment below!

I have no idea how to paint the ceiling/walls--keep it all one color,
or seperate the wall from the sloped ceiling. I'm thinking all one
color so it just blends and you don't notice the transition as much.
And that seems like less work too!

I forgot to take the "before" picture before
I started testing out the paint color
(trying to make do with a shade of tan that we
had in the basement & I think it's going to work!)

Here are a few things that I love and some inspiration for what I hope this room will become:

I found a dresser that I loved, but thanks to the advice of my mom, I decided that the price was too high for a dresser that will probably be covered in crayon and marker one day. So I decided to find a suitable dresser on craigs list and try to refinish it.

This is the dresser from wisteria that I fell in love with:

and here is the "before" of what I found on Craigs list :

and the "after:"
